What do you provide with every prescription?

Can I use my and spouse insurance plans at the same time?

Yes. Initial payment is always directed through your plan first then through a spouse plan.

How do you transfer medications from my current pharmacy?

Transferring your prescriptions is no cost to you. Simply speak with a member of our Pharmacy Team and we’ll take care of the rest!

How do I order refills on my medications?

You can order your prescription refills by phone, with our mobile app or come in person. We strive to have your prescription ready in just a few minutes.

Do you deliver medications?

We can deliver medications upon request before or after the store closes.

How long does it take to get my medication to your store?

If we do not have the drug available on our shelves, we can usually get within 24hrs from the time you placed your order. Our warehouse delivers to us once a day on weekdays, and on Saturdays.

What is a Medscheck medication review?

The MedsCheck service was created specifically for people who are regularly taking three or more medications at a time. A MedsCheck provides an opportunity for you to sit down one-on-one with your Pharmacist to help identify and resolve common medication-related issues so you can get the most benefit from your medication. This medication review can help you better understand your medication therapy and ensure that medications are being taken as prescribed.

Do you provide the flu shot?

Our pharmacists are permitted to inject the flu vaccine provided by the health unit in the fall when the flu shot becomes available.In order to be able to provide these injection services, the Pharmacists must take part in a certification process that includes; training, live workshops, first aid and CPR training, as well as education to provide specialized knowledge of vaccine storage requirements. Under provincial legislation, pharmacists may provide the flu shot vaccination and other injections to children 5 years old and over.

Do you provide blood pressure monitoring?

High blood pressure is one of the main risk factors for heart disease, stroke and kidney failure. Small changes in pressure can have a significant impact on life expectancy. A simple and easy way to test your blood pressure is to use our Blood Pressure machine. A trained pharmacist will take your blood pressure to ensure your blood pressure is taken appropriately.

Do you provide Dossettes/compliance packaging?

You know those over the counter medicines that come in a sheet where you pop the medication out through the tinfoil backing? That's a compliance package. We provide this to you at no extra cost except your usual drug plan co payment.This is an incredibly helpful memory tool – which is especially important if you have to take several medications or even the same medication several times a day, every other day or at very specific times. Each medication contained within the Organizer is labeled with its description and directions for use.

Do you accept expired medications and vitamins from other stores?

Bring unused and expired prescription drugs, over-the-counter medications and natural health products to Midhurst Pharmacy (even if we did not dispense the medication). Do not flush medicines down the toilet or sink. You can return your unused and expired medications to our pharmacy any day of the year.

Do you provide diabetes services?

We are committed to helping people with diabetes lead healthy lives. If you have questions about your diabetes medications, just ask. We have a Diabetes Educator on staff.

The Pharmacist can help you control your diabetes with:

  • Blood glucose meters and diabetes education
  • Insulin pump supplies and other diabetes products
  • Medication reviews
  • Nutrition and lifestyle counseling
